Affinity New Media was charged with building this innovative new regional football site. A complex content managed solution allows the client to be first in the market with news, views and reviews. Below the man himself talks about it’s aims.

So what, exactly, is rickwaghorn.co.uk all about?

Why is it bringing Norwich City fans the world over back to the site, time and time again?

Well, for one thing, it is a 24/7 operation - whenever a Norwich City news story breaks www.rickwaghorn.co.ukOpens New Window is the first to react with a raft of informed opinion and analysis on the most talked about institution in Norfolk. No more waiting around for newspaper deadlines. Comment and expert opinion day and night.

Because that’s what people will pay a premium for - the 21st Century is not the Age of Information; it’s the Age of Analysis. And our cast of characters are the best in the business at delivering expert opinion on all things Norwich City.

It is led, of course, by Rick Waghorn, who for 14, award-winning seasons was the face of the Evening News’ coverage of the city’s football club.

But it doesn’t end there. Joining Rick in offering their opinions are a range of top writers from both the provincial and national sports scenes - from Anglia TV comes former NCFC reporter Malcolm Robertson, while Radio Norfolk’s rising star Chris Goreham adds his unique commentary on Canary events.

From the national stage come two keen Norwich City followers - leading frootball writer on The Sun, Charlie Wyett, plus former Evening Standard sports editor and now Daily Express columnist Mick Dennis.

So much for the ’names’. The real fun, however, started when we unveiled a whole new cast of Canary characters re-shaping the way that football is reported.

So, step forward ’Mr Big’; let me introduce you to ’The Wife’; have you read ’Gadget’ and his review of the latest must-have footballer toy? And what about ’Animal’, the man who is lifting the lid on those wild party nights? Fancy a footie flutter? Then look no further than ’Jimmy The Book’ - the very best Norwich City odds from the country’s leading on-line bookies housed together for the very first time...

The aim was always very simple. To follow Rupert Murdoch’s advice. For football reporting in 2006 needs to be brilliantly packaged. It needs to feed the mind and move the heart.

And, trust us, that’s exactly what we’re doing...650 visitors on average a day within 14 days of launch, reading on average 2,500 pages a day. The numbers are starting to roll...
