Cats Protection
Affinity Wins Cats Protection Extranet Development Cats Protection, the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, has awarded the contract for the development of their extranet to Norwich based, NMA Top 100 web design agency Affinity New Media.
The new extranet will have far reaching consequences and will allow volunteers, paid staff and external stakeholders to retrieve and post information, streamlining the nationwide network. Carrying out the worthwhile work for Cats Protection around the UK are 7,000 volunteers and nearly 500 paid staff members.
The work is carried out in the 252 branches and varies from fundraising to working in the 29 adoption centres. The new extranet will allow these individual centres to feel part of the whole and massively help to streamline the charity’s internal communication. This will then allow them to allocate the donations given by members of the public much more efficiently.
The National Cat Centre in Chelwood Gate, Sussex is the charity’s administration base. In 2006, Cats Protection helped more than 142,000 cats and kittens, helped to neuter nearly 100,000 cats and rehomed and reunited, on average, 1,000 cats a week. Affinity New Media last year expanded its business to cover the Midlands by opening a new office in Nottingham which joins those in Norwich and London.
With more national contracts such as the Cats Protection being won, Affinity are excited about what the future holds. Max Edwards, Affinity’s Managing Director commented: “We have been awarded this contract because we have the technical expertise to bring together this nationwide organisation and streamline their activities. This is a very exciting project for Affinity and is going to be a fantastic asset for Cats Protection.”
