The Brief
A website re-design for Wickstead’s online presence www.wicksteed.co.uk
Wicksteed commissioned independent research conducted across a panel of Wicksteed clients and industry contacts into attitudes to the existing website, usage patterns, likes and dislikes, wish-lists etc. The findings of this research were presented at a meeting in late March 2007 and formed part of the brief for the new website.
Early 2007 saw Wicksteed through a process of brand redevelopment and repositioning following consultation and research with brand consultants, with a view to modernising the image of the Company and it’s main brand.
The result of the brand development was a change in name from Wicksteed Leisure to Wicksteed Playscapes and a new brand identity to reflect this change. The brand redevelopment extended across all marketing material in the Wicksteed estate.

Affinity New Media were asked to design a new web presence
that supported the brand redevelopment.
Wicksteed’s existing website had good rankings in the search engines, so key to the new website brief was the handling of existing content navigation and site migration. To add to the content, Wicksteed requested areas on the new site which could be easily managed through the Affinity Control Centre; Affinity’s authored Content Management System.
Wicksteed also wanted to create a large section that would serve as an online brochure of their products, including photographs, diagrams, measurements and downloadable documents.
