The Brief

Cats Protection were looking for an extranet that could be accessed by volunteers and staff but which would have different access privileges determined by login details. The extranet would have to hold a vast amount of data with varying content that could be streamlined into the same user interface for ease of use. At this early stage, the brief outline for content included; Best practice care advice / policy guidelines for hands on cat care workers, a simple forum platform, news and events pages, a shop area, downloadable and searchable training material, press releases, logos and stationary. Also, Human Resources, notice boards, plus staff profiles / competitions, user generated content, online access to volunteer newsletters, a catalogue of contact details and a user diary.
